How to startup? | Maciej Kraus
Maciej Kraus, partner in Movens Capital says that it’s very important to translate product functionalities into tangible benefits for the users, clients, customers. He claims that a lot of tech founders don’t spend enough time building their “sales muscles”.
This is Tomek Snażyk, Startup Poland. And today in our segment, How to Startup, I have a very, very special guest, the one and only sales guru Maciej Kraus of Mowens Capital. Maciej, welcome to the studio. Yeah, great pleasure and thanks for your invite. And we tried to do it within 10 minutes. And because you are the sales guru, you know how to price services or goods.
So I kindly ask you to, you know, Maciej Kraus. Maciej Kraus. Maciej Kraus. Maciej Kraus. Maciej Kraus.
Maciej Kraus. Maciej Kraus. Maciej Kraus. What's in it for me? So that your customers, your users would perceive your product when you put a price tag on it more as a return on investment rather than as a cost. Zazwyczaj to, co próbuję wyjaśnić, jest to, że najpierw musisz budować wartość, potem musisz przesunąć tę wartość do jakiegoś elementu monetarnego, czyli używając mojego produktu, platformy, technologii, mogę, albo możesz, wysyłać, oszczędzać tyle pieniędzy,
Maciej Kraus. The money you earn is like a derivative of the retention, of the usage. If your customers don't use your product, they will never pay you. They will never subscribe again. They will never pay the fee again. So that's why you should mostly focus on this part. And the problem I see quite often with tech startups is that users are not technically skilled enough
Maciej Kraus. Basic example is iPhone. Maybe it's not the top-notch technology, but we all know how to use an iPhone. Even my three-year-old kid knows how to use an iPhone. Better than you. Better than me, sure. I'm not saying that you should just go to this extreme. It's more that I see most of the tech startups are on the other extreme. Here is our code or here is our technology. It can do anything for you, dear customer. But then, you know, the customers are like, but no, anything is like nothing.
So just tell me exactly, you know, give me a use case. How can I use it with my use case, with my kind of, you know, company? What can I do? How much money can I earn? How can I be more competitive than my competitors using your products? So this is, you know, where I try to focus the attention of the funders. The other core problem is that a lot of tech funders, they don't spend Maciej Kraus.
Maciej Kraus.
Fear of rejection. Fear of rejection. Thank you. Thank you Maciej for that. And sometimes I feel that they feel that it's going to lower them because some kind of customer or clients will tell them no or we're not interested or the competition is better or we just like the competition better because of whatever reasons.
How do you overcome that? To jedna rzecz. Kolejna rzecz to po prostu zwykły sens. Maciej Kraus. Maciej Kraus.

Maciej Kraus. Maciej Kraus. Maciej Kraus.
