Is your IT outsourcing model actually creating value or just generating costs? Most companies fall into the same trap: they choose either low-cost body shops that fail to deliver quality, or large consulting firms that build slide decks instead of working software.
In this episode of Euvic Talks, Bartek Śliwa sits down with Chris Krzoska, CEO of Euvic US. Chris shares his journey - from a family basement startup, through building systems for global brands like Subway and Dunkin’, to selling the business to a U.S. competitor.
What will you learn from this episode?
Chris introduces a three-part framework for fixing the broken outsourcing model:
Pillar 1: The Right People (Three-Filter Framework)How do you choose a location that won’t fail you? Chris uses three key filters:
• Engineering Excellence: Why is Poland ranked #1 globally (e.g., in Java), and why is half of OpenAI’s founding team Polish?
• Geopolitical & Cultural Alignment: Why do cultural proximity and geopolitical stability matter more than low cost?
• Cost Effectiveness: How to optimize costs without sacrificing quality (The Poland Advantage).
Pillar 2: The Right Process (Quick Iterations vs. Long RFPs)Instead of spending 6 months on lengthy procurement processes, focus on:
• 4–6 week workshops: the fastest way to validate a partner with a low entry cost ($10–20K).
• Low cost of change: why you should test teams when uncertainty is highest and switching costs are lowest.
• Domain experience: why you should never work with a team that is learning your industry on your project.
Pillar 3: The Communication Bridge (Product Solutions Managers)Meet Euvic’s “secret weapon” - the PSM team. Former Senior Product Managers from the U.S. who:
• bridge the gap between business vision and code,
• ask tough questions to uncover the real goal (the project’s North Star),
• apply the “Collaborative Way” framework: listen generously, speak straight, honor commitments.

He said, hey, call this guy Roman on, I think it was Skype at the time.
He said, he'll explain to you what the software is and I want you to help us train people.
And so I used Camtasia Studio and I started, I learned what the software was all about and I started producing videos, marketing videos and training videos for our early pilots.
And we were installing pilots at some of the early restaurants in the New York, Connecticut area for a brand called Subway Restaurants, which at the time, and I think it still is, was the biggest restaurant chain in the world.
I paid my way through college and I had a totally different perspective going to school and everything.
I tutaj, otrzymaliśmy od Ciebie klaimę, że model outsourcingu jest zniszczony.
It is a bold claim and it's a real claim and we've lived it through experience.
And what I would say is it's a bold claim and there's no sexy solution.
It's easier, clickbait is easier than...
If you're looking for engineers that just seamlessly integrate into your team and they work on your engineering hours, then like probably it's a little bit harder because, well, but even still, I would say, even from just a straight staff augmentation model, where all you want is engineers that have a certain skill set and you want to integrate them into your team, you know, you have a stand up, a team stand up, or you have planning meetings and review meetings.
I think there's really three main ways that we fix it.
Nawet połowa fundacji OpenAI jest z Polski.
Ten chłopak w Japonii, który miał taką konkursę globalną o hackingu, wygrał kilka miesięcy temu i wygrał zespoły inżynierii AI.
Poland is number one, I think followed closely by Hungary, Czech Republic and Ukraine.
Outsourcing Fails.
Right, and we touched the time zone problem, because as you said, there are three hours level up.
We're not speaking straight.
Nowadays, where the AI is hidden in every single fridge that you open, how about all of those business-oriented cases, tech-oriented cases, how are they able to advise or to ask the right questions when everything changes so rapidly?
And it's not just this industry, it's AI, it's everything else, right?
Jeszcze nie ma znaczenia, kto skupia się na AI.
Jeśli masz zły inżynier, który nie ma kontekstu biznesowego, nie ma umiejętności czy kompetencji, to oni zaimplementują AI w niebezpieczny sposób.
