Cześć, tu Ania, a to jest Made In Poland. Hej kochani, witam was w kolejnym odcinku podcastu Made In Poland. Michael Czech. Michael nie mówi po polsku, ale... Bardzo cieszę się, że zgodził się wystąpić w podcaście Made In Poland, bo to o czym on mówi i to o czym uczy jest bardzo ważne.
Będziemy mówić o sukcesie, o determinacji i dyscyplinie, a także o szczęściu. Dotkniemy też tematu uważności. Także kochani, zapraszcie sobie herbatę, kawę albo nalejcie sobie lampkę wina i posłuchajcie. Hey everyone, welcome back to another episode of Made In Poland. Today's episode is a little different. We're switching to English because I'm sitting down with someone who's really close to my heart. Mike Czech.
Let's get into it. Michael, thank you so, so much for agreeing to sit with me. Polish culture has always valued resilience. If you look at our history, generations had to rebuild, adapt and persevere through incredibly difficult circumstances. There is deep cultural belief that strength of character and persistence can carry you through almost anything. Mike, I'd like to start with the mindset behind that. What does the winner's mindset truly mean to you? So, Anya, thank you for having me. It's great to be with you and I'm looking forward to this conversation. You're welcome. When it comes to a winner's mindset, it starts with the idea in your brain that there is more for you in life than whatever you're currently experiencing.
So it takes someone to first decide that they want more. After they make that decision, the hard part is to then execute. And that execution and getting to where you're hoping to be is what drives you to all the actions and thoughts that you experience afterward. But the question is, are the people born with that mentality? Part of that answer is yes. There are certain people who either through genetics Słuchajmy.
Looking back at your life, what experiences shaped your mindset the most? I think that the fact that I have always been a pleaser in that I want people to be happy and I want to provide for them the things they're looking for. Now there are opportunities where people do too much, right? And it causes their own unhappiness because they feel like they're doing too much for whatever reason. Lack of time, they're not getting it reciprocated.
But the idea that you are put on the earth by God Names mentioned to make life better for those around you is a very powerful motivator. If you look at Polish culture, especially the immigrant mindset, discipline has always been essential. People came to new countries with nothing and had to build their lives through Names mentioned. Names mentioned.
Names mentioned in Polish. Names mentioned in Polish. Names mentioned in Polish. One of the things that I attribute to a mindset of winning is to make simple habits that you can complete. Names mentioned in Polish.
Names mentioned in Polish. That is a challenge for some people because they're so bogged down with what's going on in their lives that they forget to realize that they're blessed.
Mhm. So confronting your weaknesses, but also I want to talk a little bit about setbacks. I feel like every successful person experiences setbacks. What mental strategies help you push forward when these things don't go your way? Yeah, so... The amount of failures that the average person goes through in order to try to achieve what they're doing is way more than most people think. One of the biggest errors that people in general make is they assume everyone else is doing better than them and it took a lot of living for me to realize not only is that true, a lot of times it's probably the opposite.
Makes sense? It does make sense and I have a couple of examples I've thought of. One common example that I've seen in the past several years has to do with people, a couple who would like to have a baby. Słuchajcie. I sometimes it works. It may work exactly as somebody would like.
Sometimes they end up having more than one child and they're surprised. Sometimes it doesn't work at all. If you're a person of faith, There are times where you have to accept that there is a plan laid out for you by a supreme being and that might not be part of the plan. Now I'm not telling anyone who's listening or watching, you can't have a kid like give up on it. That's a micro example. The macro example is that you have to try what you want to achieve. Names mentioned in Polish.
Names mentioned in Polish. God gave me the wisdom to know what I can change, what I can't, paraphrasing it, but the things I can't change and the serenity to accept it. And that is like, it's very poignant. If people have faith and they can read that, just look up serenity prayer online, you'll find it a million ways in every language.
Let's make a plan with the agreement that we're going to change this plan as it goes. That helps you manage your disappointments. It helps you stay on target. It helps look at what's realistic. These are all very vital things. This is how you attain and keep mental health. And what would be your advice? How would you deal with disappointment?
Names mentioned in Polish. Names mentioned in Polish.
Not many people look at raising children as the way you look at it. It's because I feel like it becomes a job, it becomes a chore. I think people struggle to find happiness in those moments. I feel like a lot of people actually say, I'm not happy. But if you ask them why they're not happy, they don't know. I don't think that people Names mentioned in Polish.
People make decisions regarding child raising that makes their job way more difficult. And I'll give you some examples. You have different types of parents. Some of them are the parents who are so involved in their children's lives, they're actually living a little bit through their children. That can be very dangerous for the parent, because the parent does not have something for him or herself. Wszystko dotyczy dzieci.
So at the end of the day, we always want to make our kids happy, but there has to be a level of discipline. And if the parents are sacrificing to the point where they are unhappy people, they have to change the level of sacrifice. Names mentioned on screen.
I jeśli dziecko wie, że idę do szkoły, Słuchajcie. So we created a monster that we now have to deprogram to do what we want. This is why when people make decisions, they have to really think very hard about what's best for their child, not today or next week, long term.
Working harder. They have better relationships. Raising children is the most difficult management job ever invented. There's nothing more difficult than raising a family. But the rewards of watching your children grow and the love they show in return, there is nothing like it. If you've been through it, you know what I mean. If you haven't, you may never. That brings me a little bit to the next question.
I'm not a pro at AI. I'm very new with it. And I'm a little older. I'm trying to learn more about it. I'm very uncomfortable because I don't understand a lot of it. Słuchajcie. Or people just say, well, you know, I'd like to get a better job. It's just too hard to apply. They never hire. It's very difficult. You know, there's a point where you have to say, I still have to try. If I want to get what I'm looking for, I have to try.
Mhm. I I think that the difficult part sometimes feeling that you are enough. I think that's the challenge now these days because I think people do compare a lot. They they compare lives like you said in the beginning. We compare we compare each other, right? A hundred percent. You know, so Facebook has been they I have read several articles about Facebook particularly, but let's talk about all social media. People tend to be very, very upset when they see other people having more fun than they are.
And if you land on top of the mountain, that's very good. Good enough is good enough sometimes. Yeah. Mike, więc ty jesteś Freemasonem. Jestem. Organizacje zbudowane wokół Braterhood, kształty, kształty czy mocne przyjaciółki mogą mieć ogromny wpływ na rozwój osobowy. Jaką rolę ma Braterhood w twoim swoim rozwoju? I can talk to you about that for hours, but I'll be brief. So for those who don't know, the Freemasonry as a fraternity, it's essentially what you would think of like a collegiate fraternity or fraternity in university that is for men over the age of 18.
Because I really was touched by how he thought on making me comfortable or improving who I am. And I want to do that for others. Now, that doesn't come from just being a part of a group or a fraternity, but surrounding yourself with people who make you happy and make you want to be better at whatever it is you do or are is the way to get there. If you find that you have friends that you're struggling with, who don't make you feel good, if they cause more problems than good tidings, you have to seriously consider why you're a friend of that person.
That is the beauty of second chances, third chances, fourth chances. If things are meant to be, they will work themselves out and you will stay there. But if you're getting the thought, maybe I shouldn't be here anymore, don't ignore that feeling. You may need to get counseling about it, speak to people, what do you think about this, what would you do if you were me, but then make a decision and do it, because time moves quickly. I thought I was 22 years old like three weeks ago. I'm 51 now. I don't know how it happened. I'm old. So what I can tell you, particularly if you're in your 20s and 30s and you're watching this. Do not wait to better yourself.
It only gets harder as you age. I hit my stride in my forties, like I really became a lot more successful, better at what I do, developed greatly in my forties, but I also set those in place, those building blocks in my teens, twenties and thirties. How do you find balance between success and business and being a husband and a father? How do you balance all that? Balance is very hard to achieve and there are times where you can't have balance every single day.
