A kilka miesięcy później został zesłany do obozu na Syberię do tak zwanego Gułagu. Bardzo poważna sprawa. Znalazłem w rosyjskiej Wikipedii informację, że sentencja wyroku zawierała takie zdanie. Oskarżony o próbę uprowadzenia rzeki Wołgi. Co to może znaczyć? To znaczy dosłownie uprowadzenia jej z Rosji, prawdopodobnie na zachód. Rozumiecie to? Oskarżono go o to, że próbował przenieść rzekę z ZSRR na zachód Europy.
Nie mógł wychowywać się ze swoimi rodzicami. W chwili aresztowania w 1936 roku Nikolaj Kozyriew miał tylko 28 lat. Razem z nim aresztowano około 50 naukowców. Myślę, że nie tylko z obserwatorium w Pułkowie, prawdopodobnie z innych podobnych instytucji również. Większość z nich rozstrzelano lub zamęczono w łagrach. Kozyriew miał szczęście. On ocalał.
