In this episode, I have the privilege of speaking with Kim Medina, Director of Legal & Compliance at Knightsbridge Group.

Kim works with high-net-worth individuals, advising them on corporate, immigration, and family matters—a field where precision, strategy, and deep legal knowledge are crucial. In this episode, we’ll discuss:

✔️ Kim’s personal journey—what brought her to Dubai and how she built her career.

✔️ As Kim comes from the Philippines, we will discuss the roles Filipinos play in Dubai’s economy and why so many consider it their second home.

✔️ The business environment for women in Dubai —where do women thrive more?

✔️ Kim’s personal decision to revert from Catholicism to Islam and how it shapes her life today.

✔️ The legal landscape in Dubai—Sharia vs. Civil Law and the importance of wills & powers of attorney, especially for women.

✔️ What you need to know before starting a business in Dubai, including visas, business licenses, and common challenges that expats face.

Whether you're considering a move to Dubai, thinking about starting a business, or just curious about the realities of legal work in the UAE, this episode is packed with insights, advice, and eye-opening perspectives. If you found this story inspiring, I have a small request – share it with your friends and leave a positive review.

And the Filipinos consists of almost one quarter of the population of Dubai.

They say you throw a stone, you're more likely to hit a Filipino.

We see, because there are a lot of Filipinos here, we see them mostly in services, but

Filipinos are not just that, you know.

A lot of them are, a lot of Filipinos that move here.

So I think that's why you see in a lot of hospitality related jobs, they prefer Filipinos, not because number one, they're hardworking,

I remember my trip to the Filipinos.

Like when you think about it, every fourth person is the Filipino.
